Choosing Story Tags

Many of you have asked what category you should be tagging your products under, as you don’t see a “Story” that’s a perfect fit for your brand. We thought it would be helpful to share some examples!

Remember — it isn’t about tagging all of your items under one particular Story. It’s about taking an editorial approach and choosing specific items that work within different Stories so that your Brand Collection can be linked to and discoverable in diverse and interesting ways !

Take Studio Carta (https://studiocartashop.com/) for example; a beautiful, Boston-based brand of primarily ribbon and notions that joined us for the launch of Shoppe On. At first you might think that there isn’t a tag that fits their product, but with a little creative pairing of their items with the various Stories we have worked up there are actually many! We took the liberty of combing through their website to pull some items from their assortment and match them under different Story “tags” from the last Shoppe Online that we think they work well with below. This is by no means a complete representation of the ways their various products might fit into our editorial approach, but it gives you an idea of how we would love for all of you to think about your individual products as you approach tagging them.

We hope this is helpful to you as you work on this important step. It’s important to note that this isn’t about going “tag happy,” as not every item can or should be tagged to a Story. But when you see an opportunity to connect one of your items with one of our editorial product round-ups, then by all means — TAG IT!
