General Guidelines for Shipping & Material Handling

Shipping & Material Handling involves receiving freight during move-in, delivering freight to your booth, removing/storing empty containers, returning empty containers after the show, loading materials for outbound shipping, and delivering freight to the loading dock. You may ship your materials to or from the show via any carrier. The sections below will outline the details, but here are some best practices to ensure a timely and cost-efficient move-in/move-out:

  • Exhibitors are allowed to set up their own displays. The use of power tools is limited to assembly of the exhibitor’s product. All hard-wired electrical work must be performed by ANDMORE's preferred vendor, BECO.

  • Exhibitors are not required to use Market Logistics services and may use any carrier or crew of their choice.

  • Due to limited dock space, a confirmed appointment through hpshippingwest@andmore.com will need to be made prior to any dock activity.

  • Consolidate all freight booth, merchandise, literature, etc. into one shipment.

  • Clearly label all packages as instructed below and remove all old labels.

  • Create a detailed inventory sheet of every item you are shipping or bringing to the show. Be able to provide the number of units, item descriptions (i.e. cartons, cases, crates and/or individual items) for all shipments being delivered to Shoppe Object - High Point.

  • All shipments should include a packing slip to ensure proper tracking, manifesting and delivery of freight.

  • Insure merchandise against theft, damage, and loss from the time it leaves your facility until it returns.

  • Shoppe Object - High Point provides free drayage for all shipments that are boxed, crated, cartoned or palletized, and that have a confirmed dock appointment (during September 25 – October 22) through hpshippingwest@andmore.com.

  • Collect shipments (shipments that are not paid for) or loose (un-cartoned) shipments cannot be accepted. Any unit larger than 5’8” wide x 5'8” high or 7' long will incur additional charges. Any units weighing over 2,000 pounds will be assessed with a special handling fee per unit, and will delay your booth set-up.

POVs & Exhibitor Self-Unloading (aka Hand-Carry)

  • POVs are defined as cars, pickup trucks, vans, and other trucks primarily designed for passenger use, not trailers, cargo, or freight.

  • It is highly recommended that two people be with the vehicle, one to accompany the product to the space, and one to remove the vehicle from the area (especially if there is an emergency and the dock needs to be cleared).

  • Cars can remain behind the dock for approximately 30 minutes during active loading / unloading. Cars might need to be moved around during this time to accommodate other traffic; please make sure there is a driver in the car at all times.

  • POVs can access the building through the Lindsay Street Dock at 115 S Lindsay Street, High Point, NC 27260 (please use this address for your GPS).

  • Directions to Lindsay Street Dock: From Green Drive, make a right turn onto Lindsay Street. then take the 2nd entrance into the parking lot past the guard shack, and the loading dock is located on the left.  See maps below for more details.

  • There are limited dollies and flat carts available for loading or moving at the dock on a first come, first served basis.  Note that if an exhibitor does not return the equipment after 3 hours, they will be billed at $400.00 per flat cart or wooden trash bin, and $125.00 per four-wheel dolly.

  • Complimentary PORTER SERVICE will begin Thursday, October 24 – Friday, October 25, 2024 from 8AM-4:30PM on a first-come, first-serve basis. (Note that set-up extends to 11PM, but porter service will end at 4:30PM) If you would like to hire dedicated porter service to help with move-in and/or move-out, please reach out to Carolina Warehouse, Jim Green at 336-472-9730 or stopandgojim@aol.com.

Shoppe Object - High Point will not have these items on site for exhibitor use. All items must be removed from the hard wall by the end of the show (unless you are contracted to return in April 2025).

  • Booth walls can typically hold items up to 50 pounds per shelf, provided exhibitors always use the appropriate “Drywall Anchors” in hanging the shelf. Note that Drywall Anchors are rated to support different weights – please check the packaging to ensure that you are purchasing Drywall Anchors with a minimum rating of 50 pounds per anchor. Please note, drywall anchors and Zap-It should NOT exceed 1/4".

  • If you intend to mount or affix materials of a load-bearing nature, please contact hpoperations@shoppeobject.com.

WALL DAMAGE

A certain amount of wear and tear is expected through regular use of the wall system. The following is considered excessive, beyond normal wear and tear, and will result in additional charges from our vendor for wall repair or replacement, which will then be billed back to the exhibitor in its entirety, and due immediately upon receipt:

  • Any screw holes larger than a 1/4 inch

  • An amount more than 10 screw holes per 4 linear feet.

  • Any wall damage due to adhesive glue, direct wallpaper application, wall cladding with wood or any other material where the surface is not returned to its normal state, stripped of nails, screws or any foreign material including wall anchors that have been left in the walls.

  • Pencil marks left on walls will result in damage charge

  • Exhibitors may spackle over holes in their walls, as long as the spackle is applied evenly and neatly, to return the wall surface back to its original state. Spackle that is haphazardly / unevenly applied will result in damage charge

  • $480.00: any wall panel damaged beyond repair

  • $270.00: any wall panel damaged that can be repaired to its normal state

Should you have further questions regarding the hard walls, please contact hpoperations@shoppeobject.com.
