Brand Spotlight: Need To Know

Shoppe Object plays host to the most compelling representation of the home and gift market — from industry icons to niche makers. While impossible to choose favorites, each week we introduce you to brands you need to know now. Let this serve as a guide on your never-ending but ever-fruitful quest for the beautiful, the inspired, the innovative and the well-made.

MOGLEA

Moglea is a design studio that creates modern paper and home goods, founded by Meg and Chad Gleason in 2012. They create their artful line by using hand-applied production processes like paint and dye to add one-of-a-kind elements to each finished product. The production team in their Iowa-based studio thoughtfully applies layers of paint to extra thick sheets of paper before cutting them down, yielding unique compositions.

KISIWA

Kisiwa is a small jewelry line designed by Gadea Pérez-Andújar in her home studio in Honolulu, Hawaii. Inspired by her travels and a love for clean minimalism and ancient jewelry, Kisiwa seeks to enhance the wearer's own individuality. Each unique piece is produced by hand with an emphasis on craftsmanship.

PRIMECUT

Primecut bags are unfussy, simple, and playfully designed for the unique individual. Each bag is handcrafted with intention in Portland, Oregon, using carefully sourced cowhides and shearling from tanneries throughout the world. Each material is selected based on its quality, weight, and durability, and variations in pattern, color, and texture represent the uniqueness in each Primecut piece.

DETROIT ROSE

Detroit Rose handcrafts everyday essentials inspired by more “you time,” creating space to slow down, celebrate the present, and take pleasure in wellbeing. They create candles and skincare for the daily rituals that cultivate joy and fullness.

EN SHALLA

Established in 1999, En Shalla is a British brand based in Morocco. En Shalla creates handmade, must-have (mostly leather) accessories. In partnership with their Foodbag Foundation, En Shalla recycles and hand-embroiders industrial style feedbags, working with women's groups in and outside Marrakech. The aim of this project is to establish an education fund to help women and children to learn to read and write, empowering them with basic tools for the future.

LATERAL OBJECTS

Lateral Objects is a design lab from Stefan Beckman Studio. Bold colors and strong graphics inspire and inform their growing range of products. They support tradition and innovation, manufacturing in countries known for their specialized craft.
