SIX PICKS: Jennifer Martin Tutor of Indigo Highway
Co-founded by style expert, travel enthusiast, and creative director Jennfier Martin Tutor, Indigo Highway is a globally curated boutique in Park City, Utah. Drawing inspiration from the magic of artisanal craft and the beauty found in nature, the curation proudly showcases everyday luxuries from over 150 independent brands and artists.
From vintage-inspired accessories and handmade ceramics to ideas for the perfect housewarming gift, Jennifer shared the treasures she’s discovered at Shoppe Object and in her travels near and far. Scroll on to explore her favorite picks.
What kind of products or objects are you most drawn to right now?
I’m finding myself drawn to handmade products that bring me closer to nature, especially pottery and ceramics. The feeling of the clay—when I hold it or look at it from across the room—can instantly take me out into the landscape.
What is the best purchase you’ve made for yourself this year?
On a recent trip to Turkey, we discovered a ceramic studio out in the desert, run by two twin brothers who learned the art from their father. Working only with ingredients from their land, they created some pieces for our shop, which are truly magical.
Name an item that you can’t seem to keep in stock!
Since we opened, we’ve been carrying ceramics from Jessica Wertz, who lives in Hillsboro, the beautiful New Mexican countryside. She’s made some custom pieces for us along the way, but we continually restock her olive oil bottle.
What’s your personal go to for retail therapy? Like, where do you shop to feel good?
I’m aware it’s such a luxurious answer, but it really is travel. When I’m in town, I’m pretty much always at the shop, so it’s hard to get into inspiration mode. We make travel a priority, and it’s part of our brand, so it’s really important to experience different cultures and their crafts. Here in the States, we’re all about Tucson right now. There is so much creative energy in its beautiful desert environment. Mexico is also super inspiring. We are so closely connected with their culture and have been celebrating that in the shop.
Favorite Shoppe Online brand discovery?
MESO pottery is absolutely magical, and we’re here for it. The abstract shapes and romantic use of the clay makes us happy, and it goes perfectly with our celebration of Mexico this year.
